Saudi bombers hit military sites near Yemen's Sana'a

TEHRAN (FNA)- Saudi fighter jets launched several rockets at three military bases near the capital Sana'a on Sunday, killing several people living in nearby residential areas and inflicting major damage on the Arab country's infrastructure.

The Saudi warplanes targeted Faj Attan and al-Hafamilitarybaseson the Westernoutskirts of Sanaa as well as al-Arqoubmilitarycamp East of the Yemeni capital. Both military centers are located in residential areas.

Local sources said that the aerial bombardments left at least four people dead and several others injured.

The Saudi fighter jets have repeatedly attacked Faj Attan, but in almost an overwhelming majority of cases have missed the targets and killed tens of people in adjacent residential districts in the last one month.

Saudi Arabia launched its bombing campaign against Yemen on March 26 in an attempt to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

The Saudi-led attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 3,005 civilians, mostly women and children.

Despite Riyadh's announcement on Tuesday that it was halting the bombing campaign, the Saudi warplanes are still bombing residential areas across Yemen.
