Iran, US wind up first round of nuclear talks

Vienna, April 23, IRNA -- The first round of nuclear talks between Iran and US presiding over by Iranian Chief negotiator and Deputy Foreign minister Abbas Araqchi and US Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman ended this afternoon.

Talks will be continued by the experts after an hour break.

Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi and Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmidt were also present in the meeting convened for writing the text of the final agreement.

Next round of the experts talks will resume at 14:30 Vienna time focusing on termination of economic sanctions on Iran.

Meanwhile, deputy foreign ministers or foreign ministry officials of the 5+1 Group from Britain, Germany, the United States, Russia and China are scheduled to join the nuclear negotiations on Friday.

On Wednesday the Iranian nuclear delegation met twice with Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmidt on writing the comprehensive Joint Plan of Action.

The negotiating parties will go ahead with nuclear talks on Friday.

In the meantime, Iranian team led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave for New York on Sunday to attend Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.
