Supreme Leader deplores war crimes in Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon

Tehran, April 19, IRNA Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said in Tehran on Sunday that the humanitarian tragedy perpetrated in Yemen and the Gaza and Lebanon are blatant violation of the international law and conventions.




Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with a group of military officers on the Army Day.

The Supreme Leader said that the Islamic Republic of Iran armed forces have always been loyal to the Islamic law and commitments to the international conventions about war.

'Iran never violated the war laws, but, emerged victorious. Iran never used non-conventional weapons or methods in hostility,' the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces said in reference to eight-year US-backed Iraqi hostility.

The Supreme Leader said that now, the Islamic Republic of Iran is saying that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons and sticks to religious teachings which bans use and stockpiling weapons of mass destruction.

Ayatollah Khamenei ruled out certain allegations and hues and cries that Iran interfered with domestic issues of regional states and said such charges are not real because Iran does not interfere with internal affairs of other countries and will not do so in the future.

The Supreme Leader expressed outrage at Saudi indiscriminate bombardment of the civilian targets in Yemen killing civilians, women and children.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that he believes that they are ignorant of Islam and human conscience by creating bloodbath in savage air strikes.

The Supreme Leader said that Iranian armed forces respects the Islamic law and divine rules making them popular among the people and that the Islamic Republic of Iran armed forces have developed combat readiness, equipment and might.

The Supreme Leader said that military and defensive progress of the armed forces is among the top ones compared to the outstanding scientific and technological advancements.

'Such progress and potentials have been obtained under pressure and unprecedented sanctions as well as lack of resources, which are very extraordinary job and should continue hastily.'

The Leader said the most deplorable crimes against humanity are taking place in Yemen enjoying support from the US and the West for the aggressor.

The Supreme Leader said contrary to the bullying powers, the Islamic Republic of Iran considers security as the biggest divine blessing and defends its and others' security.
