Afghanistan President arrives in Tehran

Tehran, April 19, IRNA – Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived in Tehran Sunday morning and was welcomed by Iran’s Interior Minister Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli.

He is leading a ranking delegation to Tehran for a two-day visit to the country upon the official invitation of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.

Ashraf Ghani is to confer with a number of ranking Iranian officials on ways to promote and consolidate mutual cooperation.

He will also discuss the latest regional and international developments with them.

The visit was to take place last month, but was postponed due to the avalanche in an Afghanistan province which claimed lives of close to one hundred people.
