TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan underlined that the country's Armed Forces monitor all enemy moves in the region and beyond, and warned of Tehran's crushing response to threats.

"The Army will never be surprised as we monitor all movements not only at the borders but also in and outside the region and this monitoring is analyzed by the defense experts," Pourdastan said in Tehran on Tuesday morning.




He warned that if Iran is threatened by the enemies, it will make them regret their deeds.


"Today the nature of threats has changed and the Armed Forces have also changed in response to these threats. The capabilities of the Armed Forces, specially the Army, have beefed up and today, our Army is the most powerful and mightiest Army in the region," Pourdastan said.


Also last week, Pourdastan reiterated that the country's Armed Forces are monitoring every single move of the enemies across the borders and beyond.


"The Armed Forces' specialized forces monitor all enemies' moves beyond the Islamic Republic of Iran's borders," he said, addressing the Iranian people in the Northwestern city of Zanjan on Friday night.


"The Armed Forces develop the necessary capacities based on the results of their monitoring of the regional conditions to nip any threat or aggressive move in the bud," he added.


The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces in a statement earlier this month vowed to remove any kind of threat posed to the country and its Islamic Revolution.


"The brave and grateful nation of Islamic Iran and the Armed Forces are ready to stand powerfully and decisively against any possible threat to the Islamic Revolution and Islamic Establishment vigilantly and smartly and under the guidelines of the Supreme Leader and give a remorseful response to the enemies of our dear Iran," said the statement which was issued to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Ali Sayyad Shirazi.


In relevant remarks in 2012, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the Iranian Armed Forces' full preparedness as a major deterrent to enemy attacks, and meantime stressed that the country will not step back in case of any foreign aggression.


"Because of their Islamic teachings, Iranian nation are not the men of aggression and invasion but they will not fall short of confronting any aggression," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing Iranian military units in Northeastern province of North Khorassan at the time.


The Leader lauded Iran's high military preparedness, and stated, "The only reason the power mongers' motivation for waging war has downgraded or getting weakened is the general readiness of Iranian nation and the defense readiness of the armed forces."


The Leader said general readiness of Iranian nation, especially the youth, is today in the highest possible level compared to the past and the armed forces are more prepared and more powerful than the past.
