Yemen war, beginning of ominous plot to divide Saudi Arabia: Iran diplomat

A senior Iranian diplomat has warned against the fallout of Saudi Arabias illegal military campaign against Yemen, saying it is a conspiracy that aims to disintegrate Saudi Arabia.

The enemies of the [Middle East] region are unfortunately trying to disintegrate and weaken Saudi Arabia, and the aggression against Yemen and its consequences are the start point of this ominous plot, Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Sunday.

He called onthe United States to stop pursuing dual policies in the Middle East and recommended Saudi Arabia to stopcounting on Washingtons help in Yemen.

The Iranian diplomat warnedthat the continuation of Saudi aggression against Yemen would lead to inevitable consequences," adding thatSaudi Arabia is playing with regional security by attacking Yemen.

He called for an immediate end to Riyadhs airstrikes against Sanaa,saying, The dispatch of humanitarian aid [to Yemen] and national dialog are the only solutionto Yemen [conflict].

The UAE Foreign MinisterSheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, on Wednesday made unfounded allegations against Iran, claiming that the Islamic Republic is meddling in Yemen and other countries in the region such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Iranian diplomat further rejected as incorrect claims about the arrest of two Iranian forces in Yemen'ssouthern city of Aden and said, Iran has no military forces in Yemen.

Saudi Arabias air campaign against Yemen started on March 26 without a UN mandate in a bid to restore power to Yemens former fugitive president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi,a close ally of Riyadh.

According to sources close to theAnsarullah movement, at least 1,000people, including 200 children, have been killed in Yemen since the beginning of Saudi aggression.
