Salehi terms Leaders remarks on nuclear statement as very important

Qom, April 11, IRNA Presidential Advisor and Head of Atomic Energy Agency of Iran (AEAI) Ali Akbar Salehi termed the remarks made by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on recent nuclear statement as 'very important'.

In a meeting with a number of ranking religious scholars here on Friday, Salehi said the support voiced by the Supreme Leader to the negotiations team was quite illuminating and both members and officials of the team should regard them as guidelines.

He also outlined the process of nuclear talks and briefed the participants in the meeting on technicalities of Irans nuclear program.

The senior official said the significant point at present was the development of a common understanding among the parties involved in the talks.

However, Salehi added, as the Supreme Leader noted in his remarks, a comprehensive agreement will be signed in a few months if it would guarantee the dignity of the nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei said on Thursday that he always supported Iran's nuclear negotiations team though he was not optimistic about the outcome.

'I have confidence in nuclear negotiators and I have no doubt about their performance, but, I am seriously seeking the Iranian preferences to be included in the final deal,' he said.

He said total termination of sanctions was a national demand.
