Tehran, April 9, IRNA � Iran plans to boycott minor Hajj pilgrimage in reaction to disgrace the Saudi policemen committed against the Iranian pilgrims at Jeddah airport.

Head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeed Owhadi said that Iran lodged complaint with the Saudi government to bring to justice the policemen involved in the disgrace.

According to Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Owhadi in his second letter to Saudi Minister of Hajj Bandar bin Mohammad Hajjar added, 'Your Excellency who have always insisted on providing security to the pilgrims are expected to immediately follow up the case and make the culprits subject to big punishment.'

This was the least righteous demands of the pilgrims and will help ensure their security, he said, noting that pilgrims will surely continue visiting the holy sites when they enjoy primary rights such as moral and life security.

Owhadi hoped that the Saudi minister will take urgent stance towards the bitter incident to prevent repetition of similar cases.

The Iranian official called for swift action and severe punishment to the Saudi inspectors and official apology from the Saudi government.

Writing to Saudi minister of Hajj, meeting with Saudi deputy interior minister and summoning Saudi Charge d'affaires on the very day of incidence are among the measures taken against disrespectful behavior towards Iranian pilgrims, Owhadi said, noting that Iranian diplomacy apparatus has also protested to the Saudi government in the strongest terms.

Majlis has also issued a single-urgency bill to boycott minor Hajj pilgrimage.
