Iran, Turkey sign cooperation agreement on women issues

Tehran, April 8, IRNA Iran and Turkey have signed an agreement on cooperation women affairs.

The agreement was signed by senior officials from Irans Presidential Office for Women and Family Affairs and Turkeys Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

The document was signed with the objective of enhancing mutual cooperation in areas related to the important status of women in families and their roles in cultural, economic and social developments.

According to the document, the two sides are to cooperate in research areas and exchange information and experience pertaining to families, women, children, elderly people and the handicapped.

The document is one of the eight agreements that Tehran and Ankara signed on Tuesday to boost bilateral relations in different areas.

The cooperation documents were signed by the two countries' ministers and senior officials in a ceremony attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Tehran on Tuesday evening.

The Turkish president arrived in Tehran earlier Tuesday to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments with President Rouhani and other senior Iranian officials.
