TEHRAN (FNA)- University students of major Iranian universities in a gathering in Tehran on Tuesday called on President Hassan Rouhani to take tough action against the Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen and also voice Iran's highly critical protest over the recent anti-Iran remarks made by visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday, the Students Basiji (Volunteer) centers of six major Iranian universities deplored the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen as blatant violation of the basic human rights, and said, "The worst section of this aggression was attacking the Yemeni refugee camp and blocking the humanitarian aid to the country."

"We expect the Iranian foreign ministry to do its best to put an end to this aggression".

The Basiji university students also urged President Rouhani to convey the protest of the Iranian nation to President Erdogan for his recent unfounded claims about Iran's alleged interference in the affairs of the regional countries.

"It is now for several years that Erdogan is working to ruin Iran's prestige at regional level only because the regional Muslims have been attracted to Iran," the university students Basij Organization said while echoing the Iranian nation's protest at Erdogan's visit to Iran.

It noted that Erdogan is a staunch supporter of Takfiri terrorists in the region, and said, "Erdogan supports the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen without considering the problems of the Muslims "

The Iranian Basiji students also called for the removal of the ambiguities pertaining to the Lausanne statement, and said, "We appreciate the efforts of the Iranian negotiators, but in the meantime voice our concerns about the Lausanne statement."

"Our concerns are about the differences existing in the different versions of the texts of the Lausanne statement," the Iranian university student Basij added.

Earlier today, Iranian University Students are staging a sit-in in front of the parliament to voice protest at the results of several months of talks between Iran and the world powers as Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is due to brief the lawmakers on the results of the Lausanne talks in today's session.

The students have gathered in front of the parliament building to protest at the results of the Lausanne talks between Iran and the six world powers and the statement issued at the end of the negotiations in the Swiss city on Thursday.

The students say they believe that the redlines of the country have been crossed in the Swiss statement and the nation's goals with regard to the removal of the sanctions have not been materialized.

The protesters say they have a question to ask from the foreign minister, and shout "losing in Lausanne, pretending victory in Tehran".

Iran and the G5+1 started their new round of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, last week to narrow their differences over Tehran's nuclear energy program ahead of a July 1 deadline.

After nine days of hard work, the seven nations reached an understanding on Thursday which laid the ground for them to start drafting the final nuclear deal.
