Lebanese political groups hail nuclear deal between Iran, G5+1

Beirut, April 4, IRNA - Lebanese political factions in a joint statement released on Saturday congratulated the nuclear agreement between Iran and G5+1.

Iranian nation has stood against all pressures for the past three decades and has never bended to the West-US demands, the statement added.

It underlined that the world has now recognized Iran's right for peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Iran has always supported the resistance of Palestinians against the Zionist regime, Lebanese political factions stressed in this statement.

It urged the Arab and Muslim states to take a lesson from Iran's independence- seeking policy.

Iran and Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) started their new round of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, last week to narrow their differences over Tehran's nuclear energy program ahead of a July 1 deadline.

After nine days of hard work, the seven nations reached an understanding which laid the ground for them to start drafting the final nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on April 2 that according to the agreement reached between Iran and the six world powers, all the US, EU and UN Security Council sanctions against Iran will be lifted under the final deal.

'Our decision today that will be the agreed base for the final text of the Joint Plan of Action (the final deal) is of vital importance,' Zarif said reading out a joint statement at a press conference with EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday.

'Now we can start drafting the final agreement and its annexations by relying on the solutions achieved in the last few days,' he said after eight days of marathon talks with negotiators from the six world powers.
