Saudi airstrikes in Yemen's Ibb kill 8, wound 28

Saudi airstrikes in Yemen
Saudi airstrikes on Yemens southwestern Ibb Province have killed at least eight people and injured 28 others, medical sources say.

Saudi-led warplanes continued to poundYemen for the sixth day, with the latest airstrikes targeting Yarim town in the early hours of Tuesday. Medical sources added that four children were among the victims.

Saudi-led warplanes also targeted Sanaa International Airport in the capital of the impoverishedcountry.

Also onTuesday, a series of explosions were heard at the Faj Attan Mountain arms depot near Sanaa.

The site was reportedly used for storing rockets and other weapons.

On Monday, at least 45 people were killed and 65 more wounded in Saudi-led airstrikes on the al-Mazrak camp for displaced people in Yemens province of Hajjah.

Nearly 145 Yemenis have so far been killed in the Saudi-led aerial bombing campaign.

This came as Riyadh and its allies says they have imposed a blockade on Yemeni ports.

Saudi Arabias air campaign in Yemen started on March 26 in a bid to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

He fled Aden to the Saudi capital of Riyadh after Ansarullah fighters advanced toward the southwestern Yemeni city, where he had sought to set up a rival power base, and where he withdrew his resignation.
