US: Iran, P5+1 group will hold first full meeting on Sunday

An American official has announced that the P5+1 group and Iran would hold their first full meeting over Tehrans nuclear program on Sunday.

The unnamed official said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, FrenchForeign MinisterLaurent Fabius, China's Wang Yi and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and political directors from Russia and Britain.

The upcoming meeting will be the first meeting between Iran and the P5+1 group in this round of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland.

On Sunday, the French and Chinese foreign ministers are holding bilateral talks.

The meeting came after the Iranian and Chinese foreign ministers held talks in Lausanne.

Earlier on Sunday, another meeting was held between the EU High Representative and the foreign ministers of Germany, France and the United States.

Following the meeting, the French foreign minister said there are still matters to work on, but he is hopeful that the issues will be resolved.

The P5+1 group the US, Britain, Russia, China, France plus Germany are in talks with Iran to reach a comprehensive final nuclear agreement after an interim deal was signed in November 2013.
