Iran not to approve deal if demands not met: Araqchi

Tehran, March 28, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said Iran will not approve a deal if its demands are not met, no matter how close the parties are to an agreement.

Araqchi told NHK on Friday that negotiators from Iran and the six world powers have come to an agreement that will allow Iran to continue using the Fordow nuclear facility.

Araqchi said the delegates agreed to allow Iran to maintain the Fordow facility. Western nations had been seeking to close the site, which is located in central Iran.

Araqchi, a senior Iranian negotiator, noted that he believes it will be possible to reach a framework agreement.

He said that if a deal is reached, the parties will release a statement summarizing the outcome to inform the international community that negotiations have overcome the difficulties and achieved a solution.
