IAEA participation may be needed during future nuclear talks

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's deputy foreign minister and the head of country's delegation on Iran's nuclear program talks, said that participation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) representatives in negotiations may be needed in future.
LAUSANNE (Sputnik) Participation ofthe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) representatives may be needed atlater stages ofthe ongoing nuclear talks, Tehrans envoy tothe talks told RIA Novosti Friday.We have not discussed it so far, butthe need may arise infuture, Abbas Araghchi said.

Araghchi also said there have been no arrangements fora meeting ofIrans Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif withEuropean colleagues inLausanne yet.

Earlier media reports suggested that the foreign ministers ofFrance, Britain and Germany had plans tohold talks withthe representatives ofthe Iranian delegation onSaturday morning.

"Nothing has been decided yet, there is no such agreement," Abbas Araghchi said.For overa year now, Iran and the P5+1 group ofinternational negotiators, comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, have been conducting negotiations inorder toreach a long-term nuclear deal guaranteeing the peaceful nature ofTehran's nuclear program. The final agreement is scheduled tobe reached byJuly, 2015.

The current roundof Iranian nuclear talks began onSunday inLausanne, Switzerland and will last untilMarch 21.

Early inFebruary, Irans Foreign Minister Zarif had talks withIAEA Director General Yukiya Amano. The sides agreed onthe importance if continuing the dialogue betweenthe agency and Tehran atall levels.
