Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani[/caption]TEHRAN (ISNA)- Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the representative of Assyrians in the world has called on Iran to help provide security of Assyrians in Iraq.
Recently, the representative in a meeting has called for receiving training aid and weapons to provide security of Assyrians in Iraq, he said.
Shamkhani added that the issue indicate the Islamic Republic of Iran is not limited to any special group and is pioneer in fighting terrorism.
He further lauded measures of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defending the oppressed people in the region, and reiterated that regional nations with different religions have used Irans help.
