Kuwait city, March 10, IRNA Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that improved friendship relations among countries of the region will lead to expansion of their economic cooperation.

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart Al-Marzaouq Al-Qaem on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Larijani called for exchange of experience between the two countries and said their political and parliamentary relations do not keep peace with each other.

Parliamentary relations between Iran and Kuwait is very deep rooted and Iran seeks further expansion of relations and cooperation with the country, Larijani said.

Close cooperation between the two parliaments is manifestation of historical relations between the two countries, he said.

Exchange of experience between Iran and Kuwait could yield positive results, Larijani said.

Grounds for active presence of Kuwaiti businessmen and investors in Iran in such sectors as petrochemicals, steel and industries is well prepared, he said.

Expansion of economic relations between the two countries is of prime importance as it will bolster friendship between the two nations, he said.

On regional developments, Larijani said the current situation is very complicated as the issue of terrorism in the region has encouraged differences.

Iran believes that terrorism has registered a rapid growth in recent years, Larijani underlined.

To deal with the issue of terrorism in the region, it seems the strategy adopted by some countries to this end was not successful, he said, adding that other ways should be explored to lessen interference of other countries in the region, he said.

Iran never threatens any country in the region, he underlined.

On nuclear talks, Larijani said nuclear weapons contradicts Iran's policies but the country insists on peaceful use of nuclear science.

Talks between Iran and G5+1 is serious and positive and if the two sides fail to clinch any deal, nothing will happen, he said.

Failure in talks does not mean that the world has come to an end but Iran is very positive to the results of nuclear talks, he said.

The Kuwaiti parliament speaker, for his part said, 'We should adopt a policy to prevent western media to cause panic in order to attain their goals.'

The world Muslims are now facing unprecedented and historical challenges, he said.

Iran has a very outstanding economic and geographical position in the region and it is the responsibility of the regional countries to establish relations with others, he said.
