TEHRAN, Mar. 10 (MNA) On his Tuesday visit to Turkmenistan, President Rouhani is due to sign a number of important memorandums with his Turkmen counterpart.
The MoUs to be signed during this two-day trip include the protocol of prisoners exchange as an addition to the mutual legal assistance treaty, an MoU between the two countries chamber of commerce, as well as several other MoUs on manuscripts, environment and cultural exchange programs.
In addition to the signing of these bilateral cooperation documents, the presidents of the two countries and their accompanying delegations will hold meetings. President Rouhani will also plant a commemorative tree in Independence Park on the southern Ashgabat outskirts as sign of Iran and Turkmenistans friendship.
The volume of trade between Tehran and Ashgabat stood at over 3.7 billion dollars in 2014, some 1.3 billion dollars of which belonged to the Iranians exports to Turkmenistan.
The two countries mostly cooperate in transportation, transit and energy. They have planned to step up the level of cooperation to approximately 5 billion dollars in the near future.
