Iran displays latest car productions at Ashgabat exhibition

TEHRAN (FNA)- The latest car products of Iran's largest auto-manufacturer, Iran-khodro company (IKCO) were showcased alongside the products of 93 other Iranian companies in the 7th Islamic Republic of Irans solo exhibition in Ashgabat.

The exhibition, held on 25-27 February, opened in the presence of Mojtaba Khosrotaj, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, the Turkmen Vice-president in Industry and Trade, a number of Turkmen ministers, high-ranking officials from the two countries, managing directors and Turkmen traders.


IKCO presented its cars as Dena, Runna, the automatic Tondar 90, Tondar 90 pick-up, Soren, Samand, Peugeot 405 and Samand taxis and Arisan pick-up in a 260-square meter booth.


During the opening ceremony, the message of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was presented by his representative, Taganow, emphasizing the importance of the I.R. of Irans solo exhibition in Ashgabat and its role in the improvement and development of economic and commercial cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan.


Recalling the necessity of forming a win-win cooperation between the two countries, Taganow quoted him as saying, I hope we can expand our economic and industrial cooperation and run useful projects.


In the meantime, the Iranian deputy minister referred to the technical and engineering capabilities of the Iranian companies and the role of the trade exhibitions in improving the existing relations, and said, The exhibition is meant to boost Irans cooperation in Turkmenistans projects which will boost economic growth.


Khosrotaj also added that Iran was one of Turkmenistans three main business partners, and declared, Apart from oil and gas business, the trade in goods between the two countries alone amounts to one billion dollars, showing 15 to 20 percent growth in the past two years.
