TEHRAN (FNA)- Vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mansour Haqiqatpour warned that any US military move against Iran will be reciprocated with a crushing and unforgettable response.
Haqiqatpour’s remarks came in reaction of the recent statements of US Secretary of State John Kerry who in an interview with ABC news said that he could not promise about striking a deal with Iran, but “we are going to test whether or not diplomacy can prevent this weapon from being created, so you don’t have to turn to additional measures including the possibility of a military confrontation.”
“The IRGC’s Payambar-e Azam (The Great Prophet) 9 wargames only showcased a small part of Iran’s military might and the Americans should know that they will face a rigid and repenting response in case they take any military action against Iran,” Haqiqatpour told FNA on Monday.
He slammed Kerry for his irrational statements, and said, “That the Americans simultaneously take part in the negotiations with Iran and threaten Tehran with military action shows that they are neither rational nor familiar with diplomatic skills.”
On Sunday, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri also played down Kerry’s remarks, but warned that Tehran is fully ready to give a crushing response to any aggressor.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will show its real might to the Americans if the US makes any stupid military move,” Brigadier General Jazzayeri said.
Brigadier General Jazzayeri pointed to Iran’s military might and preparedness, and said, “In case of military confrontation, we will act in a way that we will get rid of the US forever.”
“Kerry’s stupidity is to such an extent that he thinks the Islamic Republic of Iran will relinquish its interests through military threats,” Brigadier General Jazzayeri added.
He underlined that Iran’s reinforced defense and large-scale and widespread air defense will force the US to exit the strategic region of Western Asia.
The IRGC Navy ended massive wargames, codenamed Payambar-e Azam 9, in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in the Southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas on Friday, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that the IRGC’s massive wargames ended after three days in Southern Iran after testing a strategic weapon.
“This new weapon plays a determining role in increasing Iran’s naval power to confront the threats, specially by the US, against the Islamic Revolution.
Different IRGC Navy vessels were used in the exercises.
