TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran would join the gas sweetening solution producing countries club by 2017, said Deputy Head of Iran's Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) Amir Abbas Hosseini.
He also said the locally-made solution known as Parsisol would prevent corrosion of acid gas extracted from tanks, expressing the hope that the country could mass produce the material by 2017.
Hosseini further continued that sulfur found in gas converts it to acid and makes much corrosion in gas pipelines.
Omitting sulfur from gas would facilitate its flow inside the pipelines, he said, adding Iranian researchers of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry could produce the solution locally and introduce Iran as one of the countries holding the know-how.
