TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Iraqi Prime Minister Heidar al-Abadi vowed to boost anti-terrorism cooperation in the region, and voiced enthusiasm for the promotion of Tehran-Baghdad all-out relations.



In a meeting on Tuesday night with the visiting Iranian official, al-Abadi praised Iran for its excellent and effective role in fight against extremism and terrorism, specially against the ISIL.


The Iraqi prime minister underlined the need for entire regional nations to enhance their anti-extremism cooperation.


Zarif, for his part, assured the Iraqi government and nation that Tehran will never leave Baghdad alone in its fights against terrorism.


Zarif arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon for a day-long visit.


�On Sunday, Iraqi President Fouad Massoum praised Tehran's unsparing assistance to Baghdad to defend the country against the ISIL terrorist group's massive attacks as a much respectable move.


Massoum said that Iran, as a neighboring country which shares over one thousand kilometers of borders with Iraq, has helped Baghdad confront the criminal ISIL terrorists.


He further added that Iran had provided Baghdad security forces with military counseling even before rise of the ISIL in Iraq.
