TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned a bombing that took place near the residence of the countrys ambassador in Libya, saying the explosion has caused no casualties.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said precise information suggest that an improvised explosive device went off in front of the old residence of Irans ambassador in Libyas capital, Tripoli.

She said the blast has caused trivial damage, but no casualties.

The residence lies in a central district of Tripoli.

Afkham further noted that Iran monitors Libyas situation, and voiced Tehrans strong opposition to foreign interference in the African countrys internal affairs.

We believe that developments in that country (Libya) should yield results through political consensus and national dialogue among the engaged parties, she added.

The spokeswoman also explained that formation of a united national government will block the way of terrorists and extremists in the Arab country.

Armed chaos has gripped Libya since the ouster in a 2011 uprising of the former dictator Muammar Gaddafi. The country has turned into a scene of struggle between governments and militias, who fight each other for power and share of the nations wealth.
