Tehran,Feb 22, The Iran Project -Senior Iranian officials offered the condolence over the death of sister of Iran's former reformist President Seyed Mohammad Khatami.

Fatemeh Khatami, the daughter of Ayatollah Seyed Ruhollah Khatami and the sister of Iran's ex-president Mohammad Khatami passed away on Saturday.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of Islamic revolution extended condolences to mother of lady Khatami over her daughter\s death.

Moreover, President Hassan Rouhani condoled former President on demise of his sister.

Besides, the head of Expediency Discernment Council Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, ex-Supreme Leader grandson Seyed Hassan Khomeini and Mohammad Reza Aref, a reformist official are among the other figures who have expressed deep sorrow over the lady's death to Seyed Mohammad Khatami.

Fatemeh Khatami, who was elected as the first representative of the people of Ardakan (Khatami family's hometown) in 1999 city council elections, died from cancer on Saturday morning.

The condolence messages have been offered amid the former president, Mohammad Khatami, has been banned from appearing in the media. The media is not allowed to reflect the image or statement of the head of the reformist government, said Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, a spokesman for the judiciary, in a press conference on 17th February.

Although, in reaction to this prohibition, that has been candidly mentioned by a judicial figure for the first time, some Iranians on social media and networks have lunched the hashtag "we will be Khatami's media" together with Khatami's pictures to express their support to the former president.
