Kerry arrives in Geneva, heads for nuclear talks with Iran's FM Zarif

Iran and the P5+1 group have held several rounds of negotiations on Tehran's nuclear program in recent years with limited results. The negotiators agreed to reach a long-term agreement by July 2015.


GENEVA (Sputnik) US Secretary ofState John Kerry arrived Sunday atthe Hotel President Wilson inGeneva tomeet withhis Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif fortalks onIranian nuclear program, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
Later inthe day, representatives ofIran and the P5+1 group, comprising Russia, China, the United States, Britain, France and Germany, are expected todiscuss the issue together.
The West suspects Iran ofdeveloping nuclear weapons, and imposed several rounds ofsanctions againstthe country. Tehran has repeatedly rejected those claims, stating that its nuclear program is forpeaceful purposes only.
