Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the savage and cold-blood beheading 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya.

President Rouhani expressed condolences to the Egyptian bereaved families.

Expressing regret over crimes against humanity perpetrated by the terrorists in the region, the president called on the International Criminal Court to bring to justice those responsible for the heinous crimes.

'Unfortunately, they perpetrated the crimes in the name of Islam and Muslims but in fact the terrorist acts and savagery have nothing to do with Islam.'

No aware consciences accept such crimes against humanity, he said.

Showing such images, they stir hatred and violence, he said.

Those who backed Daesh terrorists and backed them financially should apologize to world nations and history for their misdeeds and those who still support them should stop, he said.
