Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani stressed that economic independence did not mean closing the doors of the county to outside world.
Addressing a seminar on resistance economy here on Tuesday, he said it is not a precise conclusion to say that resistance economy policy is the outcome of sanctions against Iran.
He said sanctions only helped spot the deficiencies of the Iranian economic system which is suffering from old wounds.
He believed resistance economy could help recovery of Iran's economy.
Larijani said independence in economic fields did not mean cutting communication and stopping relations with other countries.
Rather, he stressed, it meant carrying out efforts to cut the influence of other countries on political decision-makings.
