Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Consular, Border Commission meets

Iran-Turkmenistan flagsDushanbe, Feb 16, IRNA The 11th session of Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Consular and Border Cooperation Commission was held on Monday morning at Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi who headed the Iranian delegation to in the joint commission said after the meeting that holding an exclusive exhibition and an Iranian Culture Week in March, 2015, and upgrading the level of Iranian and Turkmen officials' visits of each others' capitals will accelerate the improvement of ties.


He said that the consular and border cooperation between the two countries resembles a gate for the two nations' relations, or a prelude to many types of cooperation in various fields.

Before the bilateral meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vafa Hajiyev referred to the growing trend of bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural fields, expressing hope that the outcome of the joint commission will be an increase in issuance of visas, mutual respect for both countries' citizens, and a higher volume of various transactions between the two nations.
