Iran, China hold mutual nuclear talks in Tehran

Tehran, Feb 15, IRNA Irans top nuclear negotiator and his Chinese counterpart in the P5+1 discussed latest developments of nuclear talks in Tehran on Sunday stressing the need for continuation of Tehran-Beijing close consultations.

The talks took place in a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi and Wang Qun, director general of Chinese Foreign Ministrys Department of Arms Control and Disarmament.


Wang is currently in the Iranian capital along with a Chinese delegation headed by Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi.

The Chinese delegation arrived in Tehran Saturday evening upon an official invitation of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

While in Tehran, the Chinese foreign minister is to hold separate meetings with senior Iranian officials to exchange views on latest regional and international developments as well as issues of mutual interests.

This is the first visit to Iran by the Chinese foreign minister since he took office in 2013.

During his stay here which will end on February 16, Wang is to discuss Tehran-Beijing cooperation in the fields of political, economic and cultural activities as well as major regional and international issues.
