Chinese president to visit Iran: Velayati

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA Advisor of Supreme Leader in International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati says Iran-China relations are strategic and Chinese President will visit Iran to talk on bilateral ties.

Following a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Monday, Velayati said Iran and China have common strategic interests, so their relations are strategic.


He called bilateral cooperation 'fruitful', saying he will attend a congress in China on Silk Road in April.

Wang expressed pleasure with his visit to Iran and meetings with the officials, saying China pays special attention to its relations with Iran.

Chinese foreign minister, who arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening, had meetings with President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
