Iran exclusive exhibition in Iraq to open on Feb 16

Iran-Iraq flagsTehran, Feb 12, IRNA Iran's Exclusive Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Electricity, Construction Materials, Engineering and Technical Services will open in Baghdad on February 16.

According to Joint Stock Company of Tehran International Exhibitions affiliated to Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, the event, attended by 250 Iranian firms engaged in oil products, construction materials, water and electricity, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, house appliances and automobiles, will continue until February 19.


The First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri and Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Ne'matzadeh are scheduled to attend the inaugural ceremony.

The Iran-Iraq commercial exchanges in the past ten months reached over $5.300 billion. In addition to that, engineering services worth of $400 million were exported to Iraq during the same period.

Meanwhile, the two-day session of Iran-Iraq Joint High Commission will be held in Bagdad during Iran's high-ranking delegation's stay in the capital.

Statistics have it that 95 percent of Iraqi markets are filled with imported goods, with Iranian goods accounting for 20 percent of the figure.

Value of Iran non-oil exports to Iraq stands at $42.5 billion, up by 24 percent, from $34.5 billion compared to the figure for the corresponding period last year.
