TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani described the huge turnout of people in the rallies on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory as a reminder that anti-Iran sanctions have been totally ineffective.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of marches in Tehran on Wednesday, the top judge said the high turnout in the rallies sends a message to the world, particularly to the hegemonic powers.

The message is that our nation sticks to the Revolution values, and their dignity and independence, and that the hegemonic countries will get nowhere through pressure and sanction, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani noted.

On February 11 each year, Iranian people pour into the streets in their millions to commemorate the great victory of the Islamic Revolution.

This years rallies came against the backdrop of high-profile diplomatic talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) over Tehrans peaceful nuclear program.

Back on Sunday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the mass rallies on February 11 indicate that the Iranian nation is not fettered.
