Fuel oil delivery to vessels exceeds 3 million tons

TEHRAN Feb 09(Shana)--The volume of fuel oil and gasoil delivery to vessels navigating in the Persian Gulf waters exceeded 3 million tons and 107 thousand tons respectively over the first 10 months of current Iranian calendar year which began March 21 2014.
The manager of commercial division at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Mohammadreza Mazloumi said fuel oil earnings stood at 1.35 billion dollars during the period, up by 30 percent against similar period last year, while earnings from selling gasoil to vessels reached 963 million dollars similarly up by 30 percent.
He said even though falling oil prices has reduced traffic of vessels, the company is nearing its preset target of selling 4 million tons of fuel oil and gasoil during this Iranian calendar year to March 20 2015.
According to him, five companies are involved in bunkering activities in the Persian Gulf waters and bulk of bunkering activities take place in Banddar Abbas and Bushehr.
