TEHRAN (Tasnim) � The first part of a trilogy on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), filmed in Iran, was screened for the first time on Monday in Tehran.
The movie was screened in a special ceremony in Tehran with Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati, the adviser to Iran's president, Hesam al-Din Ashena, Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Mohammad Sarafraz and a number of the country's cultural officials.



Oscar-nominated Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi has directed the grand cinematic project.

A number of internationally-acclaimed professionals, including Academy Award winning visual effects supervisor and filmmaker Scott E. Anderson, three-time Oscar-winning Italian director of photography Vittorio Storaro and renowned Croat production designer Milijen Kreka Kljakovic collaborated in the project.

Academy Award-winning Indian music composer Allah-Rakha Rahman has written music for the movie.

Known for his musical versatility, Rahman has innovated with different instruments and sounds to create some of India's best-known musical hits for nearly two decades.

The use of eastern themes in Rahman�s music has apparently made Majidi to single out the renowned Indian composer for his latest movie.

Majid Majidi is an internationally and critically acclaimed Iranian film director, film producer, and screen writer whose films have touched on many themes and genres and has won many international awards.

His acclaimed film, Children of Heaven (1997), was the first Iranian film to have been nominated for an Academy Award (Best Foreign Language Film) in 1999.

Majidi�s 1999 film 'The Color of Paradise' was chosen one of the best 10 films of the year in the US in 2000.
