Zarif departs for Tanzania

Bujumbura, Feb 4, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Burundi for Tanzania on Wednesday.
During his on-going African tour, Zarif has visited Kenya, Uganda and Burundi at invitation of his counterparts.
In Tanzania, the foreign minister is scheduled to hold talks with a number of senior officials and discuss issues of mutual interest as well as regional and international developments with them.

Tanzania is a country in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west; Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south; and the Indian Ocean to the east. Kilimanjaro, Africa?s highest mountain, is in northeastern Tanzania.

Tanzania?s population of 44.9 million is highly diverse, composed of numerous ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups.

Dar es Salaam, the former capital, retains most government offices and is the country?s largest city, its principal port, and it?s leading commercial center.
