TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Iranian Chemistry and Chemistry Engineering Research Center Mohammad-Reza Omidkhah said the country stands first in the region in chemistry field.
�We have to do our best to keep our position in the region in petrochemistry and promote our first position at the world level,� he said, adding Iran managed to build the world fourth largest chemistry refinery twenty five years ago.

Iran has made great achievements in different scientific fields, including chemistry, nano-technology and biotechnology.

The country publishes 4.25 percent of the world's nanotechnology articles, standing 7th.

Iran stood 8th in 2013 ranking.

Iran has advanced tremendously in the past years in nanotechnology. Nanotechnology can be broken down into nanocomposites which can also be used in agriculture, automotive industry and building materials.
