Deputy police chief: Iran ready to help regional states overcome security concerns

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari said that Iran's stability is mainly indebted to its forces' unsparing efforts, and voiced Tehran's readiness to assist the regional countries with eradicating the underlying causes of instability.
Addressing a local gathering on Tuesday, Ashtari said Iran enjoys complete stability and security comparing with the regional states.

Tehran would spare no help for the regional countries, said the official.

Referring to the present security crisis in Iraq due to the presence of the ISIL in that country, Ashtari said Iran is sensitive about current situation in its neighboring country.

The official voiced Irans readiness to help the Iraqi police restore security in that country.

In mid-January, Iran's Police Chief Brigadier General Esmayeel Ahmadi Moqaddam reiterated Tehran's tight control over the country's bordering areas, specially over the western borders with Iraq.

Speaking to reporters in the Southern city of Bushehr, Ahmadi Moqaddam reminded that in the past, the ISIL terrorist group was operating on Iraq's soil in an area 40km away from the Iranian borders.

"But as a result of the efforts of the Iraqi army and people, the group was pushed back and we didnt have any incident at the Iranian borders," he added.

Stressing the Iranian law enforcement forces' strong presence and readiness to control and defend the borders, Ahmadi Moqaddam said no military threat is posed to the Iranian borders.
