Pop music star to celebrate ‘Iranian week of love’

Pop music star to celebrate ‘Iranian week of love’
TEHRAN, Feb. 02 (MNA) – Iranian famous pop music star has said he will celebrate Iranian week of love through concerts in Iran and Europe.
Benyamin Bahadori told reporters on Monday that his concert in London would coincide February 14, Saint Valentine’s Day (globally celebrated by lovers). Bahadori added that the day also coincided with the Iranian ancient day of love, Sepand?rmazg?n, which is the celebration day of love and earth in ancient Iranian culture. “On the occasion of the 30th Fajr Music Festival, I will have a performance in Milad Tower along with ‘Benyamin Music,’ a musical band of mine; the group decided to perform inside Iran to celebrate Iranian week of love, roughly Feb. 14-19,” he told the press.

“Before going on the stage in London, our group will have a performance in Vienna, Austria, and Hamburg, Germany, where my beloved daughter Barana will also participate; our specially prepared programs will be attractive even for Iranian lovers of music, especially programs for Iranian week of love,” Bahadori predicted.

About Iranian week of love, Bahadori criticized the popularly promoted view that it was a red line; “however, I would say that we love Iranian week of love, and respect western Saint Valentine’s day as their day dedicated to love; we should show the people of the world that Sepand?rmazg?n has 5 millennia of history, which in a sense, is honoring the high position of women in Iranian ancient culture,” he asserted, providing examples from religious parallels such as the anniversary of the marriage of Imam Ali (as) and Fatima al-Zahra (sa).

Bahadori believed that the music group should do their quota of work and dedication to Sepand?rmazg?n and its celebration as a day of love; “performing in the heart of Europe in the very day of Valentine’s day would even fuel our motivations to celebrate Iranian day of love as well; last week, my piece about week of love garnered wide acclaim by the public,” said the pop music star.

“In Iranian culture, we have more historical and more revered days than Saint Valentine’s day, which rules out the need to merely adopting their own special days; we have these valuable days in our very home,” Bahadori emphasized. “I think performances by ‘Benyamin Music’ group will help for its quota, promote pure Iranian culture which are deeply rooted in human ethics and values, in the view of the public, in a day when people only care for and are obsessed with economic predilections,” he said.
