Iran deplores arrest of Bahraini religious and political characters

Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Monday deplored continued arrest of Bahraini religious and political characters and intensified security crackdown on political activists calling for reforms in Bahraini government.
  Marzieh Afkham expressed concern about revoking citizenship of Bahraini activists as punitive measures taken by the Bahrainin government.

According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, Marzieh Afkham criticized the Bahraini government for the systematic crackdown on the political and religious activists.

Afkham said that the Bahraini government must distinguish between the peaceful protests of the people seeking reform and the terrorist acts of Takfiri groups.

She advised the Bahraini government to go ahead with confidence-building and prepare the ground for national reconciliation.
