Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday said Iran should get new prospects in space technology as it did in the fields of information, nanotechnology and biotechnological activities.
President Rouhani also stressed the need to restructure Iranian Space Agency (ISA) in line with the government’s policy to promote the knowledge-based economy.
To this end, added the President, it is necessary to increase research activities and use best Iranian talents.
ISA is Iran’s governmental space agency.
Iran is an active participant in the Asian space race and became an orbital-launch-capable nation in 2009. Iran is one of the 24 founding members of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
