Istanbul, Jan 29, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday that continued talks with six countries that lack close stands is like a Marathon.
After four hours of talks with foreign ministers of France, Britain and Germany, he described the trend of nuclear talks as very promising, he said.
Both sides try to reach the first political agreement before March, 2015, he said.
‘Today we held talks with three European states and last week we talked with American officials,’ he said, adding that talks with Russian and Chinese officials are now underway.
Talks with Russia and China will be continued separately and today’s talks with three European states should be regarded as a separate meeting, he said.
Obtaining logic of negotiation will be time consuming, Araqchi said.
He described results of talks with three European states as very positive and promising.
He avoided to make any pre-judgment about the outcome of today’s nuclear talks.
To attain desirable goal, the two sides should adopt a realistic stand based on firm political determination, he said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has attended these series of talks with firm political determination, he said.
It is expected that both sides would pursue the same positive approach, Araqchi said.
Any negotiation, which is based on factualism and good-will, will bear fruit and getting such agreement is not far away, he said.
The two sides have discussed various dimensions of Iran’s peaceful nuclear programs, he said.
There are many obstacles and problems on the way and all should try to resolve them, Araqchi said on Thursday.
