Iranian deputy FM: West getting to realize wrong approach towards ISIL

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined that the western countries have come to realize their mistakes in dealing with the Takfiri terrorists.
"The way the ISIL has moved and the West's concerns about the return of the ISIL members to the western countries have resulted in a change in their behavior towards the terrorist group, and now they are speaking of suppressing the ISIL," Rapporteur of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini quoted Amir Abdollahian as saying during a meeting with his commission members on Sunday.

"They have also come to realize that they have committed a mistake in the way they have treated the ISIL, and that if their (ISIL members) fate is not decided soon, the westerners will sustain the most loss and damage from them," he added.

Amir Abdollahian attended the Sunday session at the Parliament to brief the lawmakers about the latest developments in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain.

Earlier this month, Amir Abdollahian lashed out at the western states for supporting terrorism and extremism in the Middle East.

From the very outset of the crisis in Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran repeatedly warned the West and some regional countries not to exploit terrorism, Amir Abdollahian said.

He reiterated that the negative consequences of exploiting terrorism have affected the whole region and the international community.

Amir Abdollahian urged the West and some regional countries to avoid dubious policies towards terrorism.

He pointed to Iran's support for the regional countries in their fight against terrorism, and said, "Iran will vigorously continue fighting terrorism in the region at the request of and in full coordination and cooperation with the governments of Syria and Iraq."

Iranian officials have repeatedly reiterated that Tehran will continue supporting Syria and Iraq in their fight against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists by providing military advisors to those countries.
