Speaker sees Iran, Turkeys economies complementary
TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran and Turkey are on the same wavelength about a whole host of issues, Irans parliament speaker said, noting that economies of the two neighbors could also complement each other.

Iran and Turkey can play complementary roles on the economic issues, Ali Larijani said in Istanbul on Tuesday, addressing a group of Iranians residing in Turkey.

We agree with Turkey on a lot of subjects, and efforts will be made to promote trade ties between the two countries, he added.

Apart from the good grounds for economic ties, Tehran and Ankara can also cooperate on the security issues to contribute to restoration of peace in the Middle East region, the speaker explained.

Larijani made it clear that Iran and Turkey will not let trivial differences influence their good relations.

Iran and Turkey have plans to hike up the volume of their trade exchange to $30 billion by 2015.

Earlier this month, Irans minister of communications and Turkeys minister of development explored avenues for strengthening economic relations between Tehran and Ankara.

The Iranian and Turkish officials emphasized the need for following up the implementation of deals signed in the first meeting of Strategic Cooperation Council in Turkey.
