Iran self-sufficient in producing cryogenic oil pumps
TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) A member of Oil Industry Equipment Producers Association announced that Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in designing and producing cryogenic pumps of gas, oil and petrochemical industries, saving an amount of $400 million.
Mehdi Farajpour Vand, highlighting the self-sufficiency, said for the first time in the history of oil industry, Iran is needless of importing cryogenic pumps and has the capability to design and produce this special kind of pump to be used in oil, gas, petrochemical and power industries."


While announcing that the first load of these pumps are ready to be sent to phase 14, 17 and 18 refineries, he stated that the most important function of these pumps is pumping the liquid propane gas in a temperature of -50 c from refineries to the tankers to be loaded and exported.


Farajpour Vand emphasized that the import of cryogenic pumps were banned due to sanctions, however, Iran has produced them to the highest standards. Iran, after US, Japan and Germany, is the fourth country to reach the technological knowledge of producing these industrial pumps, he added.


The official stressed that self-sufficiency in the production of these pumps would save more than $400 million annually and its production cost is cut by half.
