GENEVA, January 19 (Sputnik) The latest talks onIran's controversial nuclear programhave seen little progress, asthere are still a lot ofdisagreements onthe issue, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Segei Ryabkov has announced.

"If there is progress it is a very slow one and there are no guarantees that this progress will transform intoa decisive shift, breakthrough, intoa compromise," Ryabkov told journalists, adding that "despite the high intensity ofrecent contacts, including onthe level offoreign ministers, major disagreements remain onthe majority ofdisputed issues".

However, the deputy foreign minister added that there is "certainly" political will toreach an agreement beforethe end ofMarch.

According toRyabkov, it is likely that the next roundof talks betweenIran and the P5+1 group will be held atthe beginning ofFebruary, however, there is no "solid understanding regarding the [exact] date and venue ofthe next round".

The P5+1 group ofsix world powers comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany joined diplomatic efforts back in2006 inan attempt toreach a deal withTehran assuring the peaceful nature ofthe Iranian nuclear program. In November 2014, the sides agreed tocontinue the discussions untilJuly 2015.
