Dy FM: Americans sending messages on Syria, ISIS terrorism to Tehran

Tehran, Jan17, IRNA – Nowadays Americans send direct and indirect messages on pretext of anti-terrorism campaign and resolving the Syrian crisis to Tehran, Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said here Saturday.
  ‘But the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy is not seeking regional crisis resolving in the framework of the nuclear negotiations with trans-regional countries, believing that final steps in such regards need to be taken by regional countries under supporting umbrella of UN,’ he said in an interview with the Iranian Al Alam Arabic news TV.

On the Russian plan for crisis resolving in Syria, meeting between the Syrian government representatives and the dissidents’ envoys, and Iran’s role in those contexts, he said, ‘We presented a four-article plan to the UN in that respect last year.’

The UN Special Envoy on Syria at the time, Lakhdar Brahimi presented Iran’s plan to the UN Security Big 5 and the other influential countries, he said.

‘Up to now we have been pursuing negotiations in the framework of the Iranian plan, one of whose articles is holding a new national dialogue under the hosting and management of the Russia in Moscow during the last week of January,’ added Amir Abdollahian.

He said that both Tehran and Moscow believe President Bashar Al Assad plays a pivotal role in resolving the Syrian crisis, just as in resolving the Syrian chemical weapons issue, responsible participation of his system led to resolving that crisis.

Amir Abdollahian stressed that the Syrians, and no other country, will draw the future of their country amid a peaceful, logical atmosphere, free from the nuisance of terrorism.
