Spokeswoman elaborates on Zarif-Kerry talks

Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham underlined that the negotiating sides merely focus on nuclear talks, and other issues might be discussed on the sidelines of the talks.
'The trend of nuclear talks is paving its independent path and no other issues are on the agenda of talks,' Afkham told IRNA on a question about the fate of Washington Post's journalist, Jason Rezaian, in the talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry.
Asked about Rezaian's fate, Afkham responded that the issue of prisoners is usually discussed on the sidelines of the talks, and said, 'The issue of Mr. Rezaian has also been pursued by the American side.'

'In all these cases the Iranian side clearly responded that the issue is paving its normal path in the judicial system,' she added.

Rezaian has been arrested by Iran's judiciary for carrying out espionage activities for the US government.
