New Delhi, Jan 15, IRNA Presidential Advisor and Secretary of the High Council of Free Zones Akbar Torkan highlighted the need to use north-south corridor to develop the Chabahar port city in Irans southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industries Nirmala Sitharaman.
He said India could use Irans railway and roads to get access to the Commonwealth markets.
He stressed that Iran will provide necessary facilities for India to make investments in Chabahar.
The Indian minister welcomed cooperation with Iran because she said closer ties would benefit both nations.
She stressed that India exercised no restrictions in allocating credit lines for cooperation with Iran.
Torkan is in India to take part in an international trade meeting.
