Iranian, Italian handball federations sign cooperation pact

Rome, Jan 12, IRNA The Iranian and Italian handball federations here on Monday signed a cooperation agreement in three fields of communications, sports and training.
The Head of the Iranian Handball Federation, Ahmad Gowari, who is in Italy to attend warm up camp of Iranian national handball team, signed the cooperation pact with his Italian counterpart.
Exchange of experience gained by two teams in international events, reciprocal support of the two teams for each other and mutual use of the connections each team have with international, Asian and European federations, preserving the two federations' progress, and holding games and sports gatherings are among the articles of the agreement.

The agreement will be valid till the end of the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil, and renewable upon both federations' consent.

The Iranian handball team that is preparing itself for presence in world competitions in Qatar from January 14 to February 1, 2015, has been in warm up camp in Italy since January 2.

After playing three friendly games versus the Italian national side, the Iranian national handball team played its last preparatory match versus the AS Calcio Fasano Club on Monday.

Iran in Group B is to play against Bosnia, Macedonia, Croatia, Austria and Tunisia, beginning with a match against Bosnia at 3:30 pm, Friday , January 16.
