3,000 tons of raisin exported from Malekan

Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Prov., Jan 11, IRNA – Governor of Malekan Jahangir Eskandarzadeh said on Sunday that 3,000 tons of raisin, worth 150 billion rials, were exported from Malekan, a city in East Azarbaijan Province, in the first nine months of this year (started on March 21, 2014).
  Eskandarzadeh told IRNA that the raisins were exported to the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine and Russia.

He said Malekan is top on the list of cities in East Azarbaijan Province and third in the country in terms of raisin production. Seven percent of the country’s raisin is produced in Malekan, he added.
